Head of Conversation AI Design at VERSA AI
“Learning German and other languages has had a huge impact on my career as a conversation designer. It didn’t just teach me how to speak another language—it gave me a deeper understanding of how people communicate, the resilience of learning a language, and that a new language opens a new cultural insight in your life.
German, with its detailed grammar, unique way of building words, helped me think more carefully about how ideas are structured and expressed, which is something I use all the time when creating conversations for AI systems. But overall, languages can teach you to see things from different perspectives and adapt to different ways of thinking, which is super important when designing interactions for users from all kinds of backgrounds.

- Went on exchange to Germany in Year 10 for a month, staying with a host family in Hamburg for 3 weeks and in Berlin for 1 week
