Robert Bosch founded the ‘Workshop for Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering’ in Stuttgart in 1886. Bosch is a German multinational engineering and technology company with its headquarters in Gerlingen. Bosch is 92% owned by Robert Bosch Stiftung, a charitable institution. It employs around 394,500 worldwide with 440 subsidiaries in over 60 countries.
Bosch has had a presence in Australia since 1907, opening its first wholly owned subsidiary, Robert Bosch (Australia) Pty Ltd in 1954. Bosch employs over 1300 associates in Oceania. The headquarters and technical centre is in Clayton, Victoria.
Bosch Australia’s activities are operated through six wholly owned subsidiaries and include Mobility Solutions, Industry Technology, Consumer Goods and Energy and Building Technology.
